Madison Emergency Services Association (MESA) Food Pantry
MESA’s mission is to be a resource for our Madison County neighbors in need. The Food Pantry services aim to help wherever there is a need in the town and greater community of Madison County, VA.
With our customers’ support, Plow & Hearth was proud to donate $8,500 to the local food bank to serve those in need of food in our community. MESA’s programs and services are provided by a small, dedicated staff and passionate volunteers, funded exclusively through donations, thrift shop sales and grants.

Friends for Good – Shop Body Pillows, Support Kids
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia in Madison
Boys & Girls Clubs focus on making a difference in the community by giving local children a positive place to hang out, grow and learn. The Madison Club serves over 200 members, with average daily attendance of nearly 100 members, ages 6-18. Their core programs have engaged young people in activities with adults and peers, building kids’ self-esteem and helping them reach their full potential.
With our customers’ support, Plow & Hearth was proud to donate $8,500 to the Madison Boys & Girls Club to assist with after schools and summer programs for children and teens with diverse activities that meet the interests of all youth.

A Beacon of Hope – Shop Candles, Give Safety
Shelter for Help in Emergency (SHE)
SHE is working to end domestic violence in our community. SHE gives peace, hope and safety to those experiencing domestic violence through a combination of residential, community-based outreach services.
With our customers’ support, Plow & Hearth was proud to donate $8,500 to SHE to assist in providing a safe, supportive, confidential and respectful environment in which survivors of domestic violence are empowered with the knowledge of personal and community resources as well as the skills needed to make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

Dogs Deserve Better Blue Ridge
Dogs Deserve Better Blue Ridge is a 501c3 nonprofit organization located in Charlottesville, VA with the mission to provide a better life for abused and neglected animals by advocating for humane legislation, promoting spaying and neutering, educating families and communities on animal welfare and finding loving families for abandoned and mistreated dogs.
In August 2022, the team at Plow & Hearth raised $3,122 to benefit Dogs Deserve Better Blue Ridge through an employee-driven overstock sale held at the company’s headquarters in Madison, VA.

Enriching Lives – Fostering Independence
The BridgeLine
The BridgeLine, located in Charlottesville, Virginia is a non-profit organization that serves adults with brain injuries, helping them gain personal fulfillment and enrichment, through a variety of therapies, physical rehabilitation, cognitive retraining, volunteer work and recreational outings.
In June 2022, our team raised $2,530 to benefit The BridgeLine through a fun-filled employee-driven sample sale held at the company's headquarters in Madison, Virginia.

Helping Neighbors Facing Hunger
Blue Ridge Area Food Bank
Since 2017, we’ve donated $28,500 and over 4,200 lbs. of food to help combat hunger. Donations are directed to BRAFB and our local MESA Food Pantry.With our customers’ support, we were able to donate $24,838 to BRAFB in January 2021 through our 2020 Gifts That Give Back program.
For each can of select Virginia Peanuts sold October-December of 2020, we pledged to donate $1 with a goal of 15,000 cans. We beat our goal by selling 17,338 cans of peanuts. Plus, our peanut supplier, Virginia Diner, generously pledged and donated an additional $7,500.

Healthy Animals in Caring Homes
Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA
We love our “fur babies!” Since 2018, we’ve donated $11,554 to the life-saving care and shelter of thousands of dogs and cats. Our donations are directed to the Charlottesville-Albemarles SPCA (a No-Kill organization) and the Madison County Animal Shelter.
With our customers’ support, we donated $9,054 to C-A-SPCA in January 2021 through our 2020 Gifts That Give Back program. For each one of our wildly popular Animal Body Hug Pillows sold October-December of 2020, we pledged to donate $1 to C-ASPCA. The average cost of care for one animal per day is $25.
